Building Community

Peace world! I have a few treats for y'all. I've had chance to connect with a couple of friends and I think you might dig listening in. Local Portland MC, member of the crew The Resistance, Rasheed Jamal jumped on the podcast, DJ Klyph presents... and spoke on everything from knowledge of self to oral health aside form his musical journey in anticipation of his upcoming release Sankofa.

I also had a chance to connect with one of the first artist I started building with here in Portland years ago (he's probably doesn't remember when we first connected - haha) who's been crazy busy with the upcoming release of his latest project Broke Boy Syndrome. MC and Producer Tope has been a guest on Welcome to the Neighborhood a bunch of times and always supported my movement and we've had such great conversations that I was really looking forward to having him on the podcast. On this episode of DJK presents we talked about his process of putting this project together, touring with an MC he's been a fan of and he's personal views of his current success.

This week on WTTN I'm looking forward to playing music from both of these artists plus new music from Homeboy Sandman who'll be in town next month with Hail Mary Mallon and I'll be giving away a pair of tickets to that show tonight!

Also excited to have Portland band Dirty Revival live in studio to talk about the project they're finishing up recording now and how you can be a part of it.

Tune in to Welcome to the Neighborhood every Saturday night from 8-10pm on 91.1FM, 107.1FM, online at www.xray.fm on the TuneIn Radio app for good music, great conversations and ticket giveaways!
