500 Episodes of Welcome to the Neighborhood on XRAY FM
Celebrating 11 Years on XRAY FM & 15 Years on the Air
On Saturday, September 20th, Welcome to the Neighborhood airs its 500th episode. It’s a milestone that represents more than just a number—it’s a testament to the culture, the community, and the consistency.
What started 15 years ago on KZME as a platform to uplift independent hip-hop, local artists, and meaningful conversations has grown into something much bigger. For the last 11 years, WTTN has lived on XRAY FM, reaching new audiences while staying rooted in the original mission: to celebrate the music, stories, and voices that often go unheard in mainstream spaces.
Over the years, Welcome to the Neighborhood has welcomed legends and locals alike—artists, creatives, and community members who are building something real. Each episode is an archive of culture, captured in real time. From exclusive interviews and world premieres to deep dives into social issues, WTTN has become more than a radio show. It’s a record of what’s happening in Portland and beyond.
500 Episodes Later
Reaching 500 episodes wasn’t something I set out to do when the show began. It happened by showing up, week after week, and staying committed to the work. There’s something sacred about live radio. It creates space for vulnerability, joy, expression—and for connection. And that’s what I’m most proud of: the connections this show has created.
Thank you to every artist who said yes to an interview, every listener who tuned in live, every supporter who shared an episode, every platform that amplified the message. You are part of this milestone.
