Louder Than Words: A Benefit for DJ O.G. One

On Sunday May 6th, the community is coming together in support of David "O.G. One" Jackson as he continues on his journey to full health. Due to complications from surgery during his cancer treatment, O.G. has not been able to engage in his normal work activities.

O.G. has been a fixture in the Portland scene for many years as a DJ, musician, mentor and friend to many. For the lest several NBA seasons he's been the official DJ for the Portland Trail Blazers, providing sounds during games for the fans and during warm-ups for the players. O.G. has utilized that platform to feature a number of local artists, providing exposure of their music to thousands of listeners.

He's also been a mentor, working with organizations helping to provide guidance to youth & individuals striving to make it out of bad situations. The number of individuals that have been touched by his efforts are many.

He's supported local, national and international artists through his work as a producer, utilizing networks to help make connections all over the planet.

The community now has the wonderful opportunity to support O.G. The event, "Louder Than Words: A Benefit for DJ O.G. One" takes place at Holocene on May 7th and will feature performances from great Funk, Jazz and hip-hop acts including Mike Phillips, Saeeda Wright, Farnell Newton & The Othership Connection, Vursatyl, Mic Capes & Jon Belz. Music will be provided by DJ Juggernaut and the event will be hosted by StarChile.

K James Cuisine will also be providing dinner plates at the event and all proceeds will go to support O.G. One and his family.

There will be other opportunities to contribute to the efforts, so be sure to have extra cash on hand.

For those individuals that won't be in the Portland metro area on the 7th but are interested in providing support, you can do so at anytime via the O.G. One GoFundMe page

In times of need, having to opportunity to serve one another is a great thing. Having the opportunity to serve in our own communities is a blessing.
